Welcome, Ms. Vang! Ms. Vang, Principal Welcome back to the 2007-2008 school year at Como Park Elementary School. We are very excited to see our building filling up with wonderful students who are “learning and growing in harmony together.” It was great to see so many families at the Open House on August 30th. Your involvement in your child’s education is the most important factor in their success. Throughout the year we invite you to join us in learning about your child’s classroom, learning about how you can have the greatest impact on your child’s education, and learning activities you can do at home with your child to help ensure his/her success. Please check your child’s backpack regularly for information regarding parent meetings, activities, and opportunities. During the year we will have several parent meetings discussing topics of great importance to your child’s education. Site Council is the group of parents, community and staff that advise administration at Como. All parents are encouraged to attend our first Site Council meeting Tuesday, November 27 at 6:00 P.M. Please watch for notes and monthly newsletters regarding these meetings. As a security measure, all visitors are asked to come directly to the office when visiting Como. Our office staff will register you and give you a visitor’s badge; or, your child will be called to the office if you are picking them up from school. Please do not go directly to the classrooms without first visiting our office. Thank you for helping keeping our school safe and secure! I am excited and look forward to working with you, your child, the staff at Como and the community. I trust that you and the Como Park Elementary Staff will find common ways to continue to support each other in the journey that each child is undertaking.
