Located near beautiful Como Park, a partnership between our school and the park was a natural. Through Como Community Connections, students are able to participate in many environmental activities. Como Park Elementary teachers use the Como Collaborative Instruction Model which means specialized teachers at each grade work with the classroom teacher to support each student’s level of learning. Through caring and collaboration, Como Park Elementary seeks to build a community of lifelong learners demonstrated through achievement in all subject areas.
Special Features
* Enrichment and gifted/talented opportunities that challenge all students are provided by both classroom and specialist teachers.
* Students learn to use technology as a tool for learning, processing and presenting information in a variety of subject areas.
* Como Elementary offers full day Kindergarten.
* The school offers a Community Kindergarten program for targeted 4-year-olds.
* Schoolwide Title I programing provides additional support for students who are not achieving in school up to their abilities.
*Students receive instruction from Specialists in Physical Education, Science, and Visual Arts.
